Ben Affleck reportedly hands over his stake in $60M Beverly Hills mansion to Jennifer Lopez
The Beverly Hills home that once sat at the center of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez’s post-marriage plans is now reportedly headed toward a full split—at least on paper.
According to a Friday, April 10, TMZ report, the 53-year-old Oscar winner has given his ex-wife, 56, his entire interest in the property, which is described as being worth tens of millions of dollars. The transaction, TMZ says, is reflected in court documents showing the two modified their property settlement agreement, including what the filing describes as a “transfer of property among spouses.”
TMZ adds that the document itself wasn’t specific. But sources with direct knowledge of the situation told the outlet that Affleck handed over his entire stake to Lopez for free. No further details about the exact mechanics or timing of the transfer were provided in the report, but the tone is clear: Affleck is, as TMZ frames it, washing his hands clean of the property.
This comes after a long stretch of trouble selling the mansion. TMZ previously reported that the former couple—now divorced since early last year—took the Beverly Hills home off the market after they were unable to find a buyer. What makes the timeline stand out is how long it stayed in play: the house was first listed in July 2024, just weeks before Lopez filed for divorce that August.
The property is massive: a 38,000-square-foot home with 12 bedrooms and 24 bathrooms. TMZ reported that the exes tried for a year and a half to sell it at its original asking price of $68 million. Then, in September, they took $16 million off the price tag.
Still, the purchase history adds another layer. TMZ says Lopez and Affleck—who had reportedly bought new homes since the divorce—paid $60.85 million for the Beverly Hills residence in May 2023.
Their relationship timeline is part of why fans keep circling back to the property story. The couple first dated from 2002 to 2004, then shocked people when they rekindled their romance almost two decades later. In April 2022, they became engaged for a second time, and they tied the knot in a spontaneous Las Vegas ceremony on July 16, 2022. They held a wedding celebration for family and friends the following month.
But even after all that—love, celebrations, the big return—divorce followed. In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce. And while the couple reportedly worked through their housing situation, TMZ recently reported that Lopez had been living in the Beverly Hills house as she worked on renovations on another property she recently purchased.
There’s also the small, everyday moment TMZ highlighted last month during Lopez’s Las Vegas residency: video footage showed her bringing a fan onto the stage. When she asked for the fan’s name and he said, “Ben,” Lopez’s response reportedly came out as: “Ugh!”
Still, the April 10 report shifts the focus back to the business end of the breakup. At the center is the mansion and, now, the reported decision for Affleck to transfer his entire stake to Lopez—leaving the $60 million-era property in Lopez’s hands, according to court documents reviewed by TMZ.
