Netflix announces Beef Season 2 cast as Oscar Isaac and Carey Mulligan return
Netflix is turning the page on Beef.
Season 2 of the anthology series is set to premiere on April 16, and it arrives with not just a new story—also a new cast built around Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Seoyeon Jang.
Created by Lee Sung Jin, the sophomore run keeps its recurring web of familiar faces, with Youn Yuh-jung, Song Kang-Ho, William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, and Matthew Kim returning as part of the broader Season 2 ensemble.
It starts, though, far from any tidy setup. The “new ‘beef’” begins when a Gen-Z couple witnesses a fight between their Millennial boss and his wife. Newly-engaged Ashley Miller (Cailee Spaeny) and Austin Davis (Charles Melton)—both described as lower-level staff at a country club—soon find themselves tangled in the unraveling marriage of their General Manager, Joshua Martín (Oscar Isaac), and his wife, Lindsay Crane-Martín (Carey Mulligan).
And once it’s in motion, it escalates fast. Through favors and coercion, the two couples begin vying for the approval of the elitist club’s billionaire owner, Chairwoman Park (Youn Yuh-jung).
Park, however, isn’t exactly focused on customer satisfaction. She’s also struggling to manage her own scandal involving her second husband, Doctor Kim (Song Kang-ho). That parallel pressure—club politics and personal damage control—appears to be the pressure cooker for how the “unraveling” spreads.
The series lineup isn’t limited to the romantic sparring and power plays either. Executive producers for Beef Season 2 include Jake Schreier, Steven Yeun, Ail Wong, Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny.
What really stands out this time is the way Season 2 frames class friction as something immediate, almost witnessed in real time—starting with that fight the Gen-Z couple sees, and then pushing everyone into the same orbit. Still, the timing slightly changes the tone.
Meanwhile, the industry conversation around streaming anthologies continues alongside other premieres and red carpets, including the related coverage of ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 premiere red carpet photos featuring Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, and more, and a separate ‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 first look photo note that points to Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange returning to Ryan Murphy’s anthology series.
