All five of the worst-performing listed companies the past six months were ones closely tied to Orban’s circle. They include a bank and logistics firm owned by Orban’s son-in-law, the second-largest lender, Magyar Bankholding Nyrt., and a conglomerate, Opus Global Nyrt., that are controlled by Orban’s boyhood friend, former gas-fitter Lorinc Meszaros.
