Michael J. Wallner

Greenfield, MA – Michael Jacob Wallner, 72, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, with loving siblings by his side. Michael was born in Greenfield, MA on May 25, 1953, and is the son of the late Frank and Eleanore Wallner.
Michael’s family includes sister Valerie Amor and Mordechai Amor, brother Richard Wallner and his wife Joyce Davis, brother Thomas Wallner and his wife Laurie, and sister Betty Scotti and her husband Daniel.
Nieces and Nephews include Aryeh and Isaac Amor, Eliza, Sara and Alex Wallner, Rachel (Smith), Daniel, Joshua, Rebekah (Odidi), and Abigail Wallner, Conner and Jacob Scotti. Additionally, he has five grand nieces and nephews: Juliana, Matthew, Mason, Camden and Micah plus many cousins.
Michael attended local schools in Greenfield and graduated with an AS from Greenfield Community College in 1974 and BS in Business Administration from North Adams State College in 1976.
He worked for many years in his father’s plumbing and heating business and grandmother’s sewing machine shop. He also volunteered his time with maintaining the financial books at his church St.
Michael was the oldest sibling and helped inspire his younger siblings in areas such as music, baseball, hunting, fishing, and investing. Even during his later years, which involved many health issues, Michael was generous, warm and loving to all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held on Friday evening, April 17th from 6pm – 8pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St. Funeral service is Saturday April 18th at 10:30 am, at St. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, 175 Wisdom Way, Greenfield, MA.
