The Public Procurement Authority (PPA) granted approval to the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) to use the single-source procurement method for consultancy services aimed at implementing the informal sector (micro) pension policy. This decision was taken during the 2nd Emergency Board Meeting of the PPA’s 6th Board, held on June 24, 2025. The approval follows a request submitted by the NPRA on June 9, 2025.
Under the arrangement, the NPRA will engage Dr. Kofi Anokye Owusu-Darko as a consultant to lead the implementation process. The contract is valued at a total cost not exceeding GHS 4,240,000 over a two-year period.
The PPA stated that the approval is in line with Section 72 (5) (b) of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663), as amended. The approval is, however, time-bound and remains valid until December 31, 2025. The NPRA has also been directed to ensure proper documentation of the procurement process to support future audits and to publish the contract award notice on the PPA’s official website.
The letter confirming the approval was signed by the Chief Executive of the PPA, Frank Mante.
